James R. Roff, Sr.

James R. Roff, Sr., 61 of Newton, died peacefully at his home on September 30th, 2008 in Newton, NJ. Born in Morristown, Mr. Roff moved to Newton and has been a life long resident of Sussex County.

Son of the late William and Catherine (Phillion) Roff. Mr. Roff was employed for many years as a gas attendant with Cumberland Farms of Newton, NJ. Mr. Roff was pre-deceased in 2006 by his wife, Ruth L. (Aber) Roff and his son Joseph R. Roff in 1984. Mr. Roff is survived by his Foster Mother, Murial Paulison of Branchville, NJ, his sons; Thomas Roff of Newton, James Roff Jr. of Newton, and Jonathan Roff of Newton and his daughter, Springrose N. Aber of White Haven, PA and a brother, Robert J. Roff, Brendton, FL.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 8:30 PM at the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ. Private Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held Friday from 7-9 PM in the Funeral Home. Interment in the Frankford Plains Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

My uncle Jim was a very caring man he always thought of other before himself every time that i would see him he was always happy and when someone gave him something he would always appreciate it. he will be missed very much. Love you niece, Joan
