Edmund J. Bush Sr.

Bush, Edmund J. Sr. age 92 of Newton died Monday December 7, 2009 in the Newton Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in New York, NY he had lived many years in Oakland and Little Egg Harbor, NJ before moving to Newton three years ago. Son of the late Louis and Loretta (Belmy) Bush, Edmund J. was a US Navy Veteran serving in Recife, Brazil during WWII. A life member of the Sampson Vets of Sampson, NY, he was also life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 369 Oakland, NJ as well as the Royal Order of Neptune. Mr. Bush had worked many years as a Maintenance Engineer with the International Local 94 for Roger’s Peet Co and later Cluett & Peabody both of NY, NY until his retirement in 1982.  A parishioner of the St. Joseph RC Church Newton, Edmund J. is pre deceased by his nine siblings. Survivors include his wife of sixty two years Dolores D. (Schuster) Bush, his sons Edmund J. Jr. of Frankford Twp., Stephen F. of Paramus and Donald L. of Butler. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren Nicole Perry, Amanda, Timothy, Dannielle, Eric, Evan and Lucas Bush as well as many nieces and nephews.      A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday December 11th, 2009 at 8:00 AM in the St. Joseph RC Church Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Brig. General Wm. Doyle VA Cemetery Wrightstown, NJ. Visitation will be held Thursday evening Dec. 10th from 4PM to 7PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Route 206) Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Oakland American Legion Post 369 #65 Oak St. Oakland, NJ  07436.

I was fortunate to have been a part of the Bush family, My sister Nicci is married to Edmond. Threw the past couple of years I feel I was had a chance to really know the Bush's. Amanda's Graduation, and all the holidays and especially being a part of the anniversary celebration. They are a wonderful family and Mr Bush will be missed by many...
