Edith Mae Grover

Edith Conn Grover, "Ede", of League City, Texas, formerly of Netcong and Cranberry Lake, New Jersey, Melbourne, Florida and Friendswood, Texas.Ede graduated from Netcong H.S. where she was the Captain of the H.S. Women's Basketball Team. Soon after, she married her beloved husband, Jack Grover (deceased), who was a local Byram Township community leader and businessman.Ede was an active community leader and volunteer. She was a NJ Certified Swim Instructor for the Cranberry Lake Community Club and coordinated many field days and hay rides at the lake. She was a Den Mother of the Byram Township Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, an Assistant Leader of the Brownies and Girl Scouts, Assistant Leader of the Byram 4-H, a Camp Counselor at the Sussex County 4-H Camp at Stokes State Forest, an active member of the Byram Twp. PTA, the Byram Twp. Lions Club Auxiliary and the Cranberry Lake Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Pre deceased by a son Richard in 1951 a brother Stanley Conn, and a sister Gertrude Bencivengo, survivors include her son Jack and wife Noreen Grover., as well as her daughters Pat and husband Frank Raimondo and Deborah and husband James Gilkeson. She is also survived by her siblings, James Conn and Russel Batson Jr.. Ede was also the loving Grandmother to David Grover and wife Tammy, Kevin Grover and wife Stephanie, Brad Raimondo, Jamie Gilkeson and Kellie Gilkeson and proud great grandmother to Lauren Grover, Garrett Grover, Paul Grover, Sean Carl and Jazmyn Carl, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.Funeral Services will be held Friday March 6th, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home #156 Main St. Newton, NJ. Interment will follow in the Stanhope Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday March 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Byram Twp.  Volunteer Fire Department, Rt. 206, Andover, NJ.
