I always remember when he was directing cars at the fair, he and Bud would always have a spot for me with my horse trailer. We sure had a lot of fun at Newton fire patrol parties . Marge and the rest of the family, please accept my condolences on the end of his life here with us yet remember that he is in a much better place and that you will be with him someday. Like all who knew Bob I am saddened by his loss yet extremely happy to say that I knew him and am grateful for all the work that he did especially for the fire department members everywhere.

Growing up I did not see Uncle Bob very often. Therefore I did not know him all that well; however it's obvious to me that "Big Jim" as his father, my grandfather, was well known, would be proud of his son who followed in his footsteps as a dedicated firefighter and asset to his community. I wish I had the opportunity to spend more time with him.
Bill Caffrey Jr.
