Here are some special memories shared by family and friends.
I will always cherish the remembrances of childhood visits to my Aunt Shirley's house, the laughter, the love, all the relatives there eating together at Passover. We cousins played and tumbled inside and out, remember the laundrey shoot?? Shirley and Bubba Anna have stamped my heart with indelible memories.

My family's moves took me far outside the orbit of the Cherney family, to which I am related through my mother, Jessica (Charles' sister. I have many early memories of visiting my Uncle Charlie and Aunt Shirley, my cousins Matthew and Roger, and our grandparents John and Bertha. I was deeply touched when Shirley responded warmly to my correspondence later in life when I married and our son Jon was born. My condolences to the Tobias and Cherney families at this time of loss. I feel sad that life circumstances robbed me of the experience of knowing Shirley over time, since I know she was a lovely person.

I had last visited Aunt Shirley about 5 years ago, shortly after she moved to Bristol Glen. I'm very glad I did as we were able to reminisce about our crazy family goings-on. When someone you've known and loved all your life passes away, part of your history also goes. I admire her perseverance in the untimely losses of her husband, Uncle Chuck, and her son, Matt. Her humor, creativity, affection and kindness are models to us all.
