Robert P. Green

      Green, Robert P. Sr. age 71 of Newton, NJ died peacefully at his home with his loving family at his side, Sunday October 12, 2008 following a long illness. Born in Orange, NJ he grew up and had lived many years in Madison, NJ before moving to Fredon Twp., in 1969. Mr. Green has resided in Newton for many years.       Son of the late Raymond V. and Mary Ellen (Laden) Green, Robert was a graduate of the Madison High School class of 1955 and later attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ. He had worked many years with Kearfott Guidance and Navigation in Little Falls, NJ before his retirement.  A parishioner of the Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel RC Church, he was also a former member and past President of the Newton Lions Club. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He  also  served in the US Army Reserves Infantry Division.       Pre-deceased by his son Brian in 2005, he is survived by his loving wife of forty seven years, Neita (Lane), his son Robert Jr. and his partner Rick Bennett of Upper Montclair. Survivors also include his daughter-in-law Lisa Green of Lansford, PA, as well as his granddaughter Amanda Gregory and several nieces and nephews.           A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held Saturday October 18th, 2008 at 11:00 AM in  Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church #203 Swartswood Rd.  Swartswood, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials in Robert's memory may be made to the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church - PO Box 124 Swartswood, NJ 07877-0124, or a charity of your choice.
